Q: What temperature is the water used in your nail care?

It is very important to look over the feet and calves, to ensure there is no broken skin, open cuts or infections. I will not perform nail care on a client that has any open cuts or infections.  You should never allow anyone to do this as it could lead to a serious infection for the client. I also keep extensive notes upon each visit and take pictures to chart your progress.

Q: Does the salon or nail tech have a type of health questionnaire?

This is important because if you have any health concerns like diabetic, heart condition, skin issues the person that you are seeing has no idea about what care needs to be taken for you.

Q: Does the person that is providing the nail appointment look over your feet, hands and nail to make sure that there is not sores, cuts, or skin issues?

Because if they don’t do it for you then the person that was seen before you may have something that could cause you a problem. And especially if the best sterilization is not in place.

Q: What kind of treatment is in place for the nail treatment?

There should be not cutting of the cuticles, pushing back only. Cutting of the nails, shaping of the nails, light exfoliation if there is no contraindication for that.
