What does it mean to use clean ingredients for skincare? For me it means using a skincare line that does not use any nasty ingredients in their product line. There are a lot of cosmetic and skincare products on the market but not all use clean ingredients. Some of the chemicals that should be a concern are phthalates, parabens, PFAS, and metals like Triclosan and Triclocarban. One example of a nasty chemical PFAS is called a forever chemical because it does not break down and exposure should be limited. PFAS is a strong carbon-Fluorine bond that allows them to accumulate over time in the environment and in the bodies of animals and people and pose a health risk. According to research not all these chemicals are safe for humans use. There are a lot of chemicals in the things that we use in our everyday life and most of us don’t even know it that it is a boatload of chemicals. Some of the concerns we should look at are the numbers of people that have come down with conditions that are life threatening and life changing.

The best way to keep your skin and health is to choose the right ingredients for your skincare, cosmetic, and haircare products. In this article, I want you to know that there are great cosmetic companies that have clean ingredients, and some of these brands I personally have experiences with and have trusted for years. The sad part is that through labeling and savvy marketing most of us think that the products that we use on our skin daily are good for us, and not even realizing what we are putting on our skin and, in our bodies, could be a bottle of chemical. When I talk about chemical I am talking about the nasty one, I understand that our world is make up of chemicals and I am talking about the man-made ones that are nasty that can cause health problems.

Just to let you know that the FDA does not require cosmetics companies to have pre-approval of their cosmetics other that the color additive, but the cosmetics company are expected to ensure that their products and ingredients are safe and expected to label their products properly before going to market with their products. But the problem with that is that not all companies are clear with their labels on their products. Some of the companies hide the chemical under trade secrets and or fragrances. Don’t get me started on products that are labeled natural, not all skincare products that are label” NATURAL” ARE GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN? There is not a clear standard for the labeling of natural skincare products. If you are interested in more information, check out my YOU TUBE CHANEL @ associates of wellness LLC. .
